Welcome to the home of Denver’s premier 18+ Geek Convention
DAKU CON 2020
Dear Daku Family,
Many of you have been wondering about the status of the convention, hotel, policies, etc. We as a leadership team have been working hard to align on these as well, and ensuring that we are doing our absolute best to provide the best possible experience for you. Our priorities have been, and always will be, the safety of our attendees, staff, guests, and everyone else, as well as putting on a show we can be proud of and that you all can be proud to enjoy.
With this in mind, we have made the very difficult decision to cancel/postpone this year’s convention. This has been a difficult time for everyone, and we would like nothing more than to give everyone the opportunity to return to some sense of normalcy (as much “normalcy” as a show like Daku can expect at least). We know this decision comes late and many will be disappointed, as are we. Unfortunately, with the rapidly changing issues regarding the pandemic, concerns about the virus and variants, as well as discussing the logistics of what we can accomplish with the hotel… we feel that this is the best choice at this time.
Please understand that we do not make this decision lightly, nor do we take any pleasure in cancelling this year’s show. But safety is truly our number one priority and we do not feel like we can adequately provide that in the current environment. Moreso, the limited tools at our disposal make it exceedingly difficult to put on the show in a way that meets our standards. We have always prided ourselves on putting on an amazing show that is for the fans, by the fans. But after discussing, we realize it would be difficult, if not impossible, to deliver on our vision in a way that would make you all proud to be a part of it. Rest assured, however, that Daku Con is not going away. We plan to come back bigger and better as soon as we can, and are already planning for next steps. Your continued support has been what’s made this show possible year after year, and we cannot thank you enough for sticking by us.
We understand that you may have questions, and we encourage you to reach out to us to discuss if you need any clarifications. And while we know that we cannot anticipate all the questions we may receive, we have some answers that may help. If you have anything else that is not answered or is unclear, please reach out to us through Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, our Website (dakucon.org) or by emailing email@example.com. We are here to support you as you have us, and we look forward to seeing you all again.
What happens to my Daku Con 2021 registration? We will happily roll your registration to the next event. If you need different accommodations, please reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org so we can discuss a solution for you.
What do I do if I purchased a table for Artist Alley or the Vendor Hall? We will also be rolling these over to the next show. If you have questions, please reach out to your Artist Alley or Vendor Hall contact.
Will you be doing any virtual or other events this year? At this time we have not made plans for an online or other events. We will look at options as we can to determine if there’s anything we can do or run if resources are available.
Thank you all so much for your understanding, and we are so sorry we won’t be able to see you in person this year. We hope that things will be able to settle down soon and we can go back to mingling and causing havoc on the world like only a community like ours could. Your support has meant the world to us and we would not be where we are if it weren’t for you. Please be safe so that we can once again rise up, and make the world tremble in the sight of our glory and badassness!

Help Out Our Exhibitors
There are many Vendors and Artist who during this outbreak have found themselves with cancelled and rescheduled Cons. This can put a lot of stress on Artists and Vendors who make much of their living at these conventions.
DakuCon would like to highlight these Artist and Vendors and ask, if you have the means, perhaps you could support their work, while we have to keep out distance.
Daku Con is a refreshing local con that is reminiscent of cons long gone, when Con was designed for an adult crowd, and didn’t specifically cater to families and children.
Daku Con features a wide variety of topics centered around nerddom, including Anime, Gaming, Comic Books, Tabletop and Video Gaming, with some 18+ content thrown in for good measure, and with adult-centric events and panels living alongside standard con-fare programming.
We here at Daku Con want to bring a fun and relaxed convention environment to Colorado’s 18+ nerds.
